Following the call to ministry, Pastor Frank A. Rush and JoAnn Vallie Rush established True Missionary Baptist Church. The church held service in a rented building on the corner of Live Oak and Alabama. As the ministry grew and expanded, Pastor Rush's understanding of God expanded as well. Relying on building a relationship with God, rather than religion, God revealed to him key secrets on praise and worship. This revealation brought forth a name change. The church laid to rest True Missionary Baptist Church and became known as, Houston Praise and Worship Center (HPWC). HPWC is known for ushering in radical praise and worship. We have striven to promote God excellence and creative in our weekly worship service. Continue to follow the call of God, Pastor Rush was ordained as a Bishop. In addition, his beautiful wife took on the roll as Co-Pastor. We are thankful for a team of great leaders. Check out our family, their support team.
HPWC is a spiritual hospital where all people, including the least, the last, the lost, and the unloved can come and be healed, healthy, get a fresh hope and head toward heaven. At HPWC, all can be delivered, discipled, developed, and end up doing a good and Godly work.
Our vision is to expand the church to include mix-income housing, a private school, a school of theology, a youth facility, a new sanctuary and much more. Please join us in prayer as we seek to pursue the vision God has given us. And Jehovah answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.- Habakkuk 2:2
